Biography
Prof. Kolitha Harischandra Sellahewa MBBS.MD.FCCP.FRACP (Hon.) retired from public service as Consultant Physician National Hospital Sri Lanka in 2008. He Is currently the chair professor of medicine SAITM. Developed strategy to improve dengue case management and prevent deaths. Contributed to National Guidelines on Management of dengue and snakebite. Dissipated this knowledge conducting workshops, seminars and Lectures Island wide and in Singapore and Malaysia. Passionate teacher with strong clinical research sense. Pioneering research on using fresh frozen plasma for snakebite and dengue. Clinical research on hump-nosed viper.Research publications in national and international journals. Won many research awards. Delivered the SLMA, P.B.Fernando and K Rajasuriya memorial orations. Past President Ceylon College of Physicians, Menopause Society of Sri Lanka, Sri Lankan Society of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine and Chairman snakebite expert committee SLMA. Has served in the editorial board of CMJ
